Anna Tran is a long-time community leader and advocate serving under-served and vulnerable families in Washington State. She worked as a social worker for over 30 years in the areas of employment opportunities, housing, transportation, and senior support; Anna also served as a community liaison for Neighborhood House and the City of Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods.
Anna’s bilingual skills in Vietnamese and English have been a valuable resource in helping her to bridge communication between members of the Vietnamese American community and mainstream social institutions, such as health facilities, housing, and public transportation departments.
Over the past two years, Anna has worked tirelessly to provide COVID-19 prevention and vaccination information to hard-to-reach community members. She has also held weekly on-line social and wellness check-in meetings with Vietnamese seniors who are socially isolated. In addition to her work in the U.S., Anna leads poverty and hunger reduction programs for seniors living with disabilities in Vietnam.
Anna is happy to serve as a Program Ambassador to ensure strong communication between the Vietnamese Seniors and the South Park Senior Center Staff—she is looking forward to the year with a positive attitude; Anna hopes to help create more outdoor activities, and more opportunities to engage seniors to stay active and get healthier.
