Jeaneth Garcia is the SPSC Latinx Program Ambassador, and has been attending SPSC since we restarted dinner and activities in-person on Wednesday evenings again after the pandemic. Jeaneth was very pleased with the services she had been receiving at our Center, and she was eager to serve as Program Ambassador to help make sure our programming continues to serve seniors in our area.

Jeaneth shared she feels it is crucial for seniors to have a space to meet in person and receive nutritious meals, fun physical activities, and social services in their native language. Jeaneth enjoys coming to SPSC, she has been inviting friends to participate as well.

Jeaneth immigrated to the United States 22 years ago.  She came with her husband and two children from Cochabamba, Bolivia. Her youngest son was born in Washington State. She is a proud mother of her two sons and a daughter who are already independent young adults and professionals.

Jeaneth is currently working at Amazon and had previous jobs at different companies. Sewing has been her passion for most of her life—Jeaneth shares that she still makes some clothing with one area of her expertise being designing and making wedding and party dresses.

Besides sewing, Jeaneth also loves gardening and helping people. Jeaneth is a very skilled person—she and her husband built a tiny house in their backyard which is very impressive.

When Jeaneth retires, she plans to go back to her country to work in reforestation. In addition, she is looking forward to spending the rest of her life with her husband close to her relatives and friends in Bolivia.
